from schylling.   7. mini wooden monkey skittles R85 from ld toys.
8. yoda torch & night light R430 from lego

there are some of us who prefer to get our christmas shopping out of the way early and there are some of us who enjoy being in crowded malls days before christmas, bustling to get that last pack of chocolate balls shivering on the shelf. and there are some of us who don't celebrate christmas, but would need to buy a gift for some occasion none the less.

my recommendations are don't buy your chocolate balls too early nor your gifts too late.

..may the force be with you..

for the kids

a big well done to jeremy his sister lyra and stunning mom sandy for your awesome space shuttle!

!!let's continue building for the future!!

for us playing with lego brings us together on another level,
it is simply brilliant. almost like meditating to quiet the mind
and then opening up this amazing flow of constructive creative energy.

we simply love playing lego!

and i suspect that we are not the only family that feel this way...clearly!

i wonder if ole kirk christiansen knew what he was making when he created lego in 1949?
(the word lego comes from the danish phrase leg godt which means - play well.)
(nice!)

i think he did!

there exists no another 'game' as popular as lego in the world.
what is gives to the individual is incomparable with other 'games'.
lets also take into consideration how many other games we, as adults,
naturally end up playing with our kids for an extended period of time??
(hence - we play lego)

i daresay it is sustainable, free range and healthy!

play well and send me photographs of your lego, i mean
your child's lego!  (no age restriction)

baby girl

1 terracotta top R187 from sticky fudge.   2 button detail bandana R64
from sticky fudge.   3 canvas t-bar shoe R229 from country road.
4 summer romper R280 from tic tac toe.   5 soft floral dress R299 and
bandana R64 both from sticky fudge.   6 indian moccasin R175 from nap.

..this is for that little someone special in your life..

even though i think bandana's are a must have accessory, i highly recommend that you keep a keen eye on baby whilst she is wearing it as it can be a safety hazard. perhaps consider tying it with an extra tight double knot leaving at least 3 fingers room between the neck and bandana and take it off when she goes for a nap.

i found the indian moccasins today at nap, aren't they adorable? just perfect for a developing foot.

the petit beteau outlet in the cape quarter is open! great prices for lovely pieces and adorable underwear, especially for 8-10 year olds, boys & girls. follow me on twitter to stay up to date with new shops and fabulous finds!

- thanks for popping by -

for the kids

oh, how perfect this commercial is for we play lego!

have a look at it, it is worthwhile and an excellent means of introducing
the 'for the kids' section of this blog.

it is the community platform of we play lego for the whole family
('cause, we all know that we all play lego...)

this is where you come in!

ever marvelled at your child's lego creativity,
thinking wow! i cant believe she made this, she's only 4!
or gosh! i can see peter's contemplative character come through in his lego building.
even, he says it's a crocodile...i don't see it...but if he says it is then surely it must be!

at this point please take a photograph of the creation!

this is where i come in!

send me your photographs, with a story and description
of the creation and creator - optional.
i'll glue the photographs, add the notes on my pretty little new notepad
which looks like this

then..

this is where the whole family comes in!

i'll let you know when it's up and you can all have a look at your
lego creations and make your children feel extra special about building something!!!!
building something for the future!!!!

lego - builders of tomorrow was made by susanne dittrich - all rights reserved.
thanks to chiara, francesca & bruno for the desert explorer 55X - superb!
thanks to ek&jy for my new notepad!

wild nature

1. supermarket tote R250 from skinny laminx.   2. fox vest R150 from petit pois.  3. scalloped edge shorts R259 from earth child.   4. stella leather sneakers (on sale) R519.20 from mimi and jojo.

what delightful little finds!

this is how it ties into supporting wildlife through fashion. (can't get enough of this!)

the tote bag is the super marvellously fashionable alternative to plastic shopping bags. the fox reminds us of animals and that we share this planet with them, did nature not exist before us? is it not the canvas on which we are painted? the 100% organic cotton scalloped shorts supports organic cotton growing and that directly benefits our water supply, fresh water organisms and keeps genetically engineered cotton out of our cupboard. good leather shoes (what i call a heritage piece) will stop us from buying poor quality shoes whereby we can decrease carbon emissions somewhere in another country where people work for peanuts making poor quality shoes and it becomes a marvellous hand-me-down that will probably do about 5 hand-me-down rounds before it finally gets given to Butch the chihuahua as a toy.

and that is how we can promote wildlife through fashion - can't help it!
